About Entasis Therapeutics

Entasis is developing a portfolio of innovative product candidates to treat serious gram-negative multi-drug resistant infections.  Entasis’ anti-infective discovery platform has produced a pipeline of meaningfully differentiated programs which target serious bacterial infections.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive drug discovery projects from early discovery stage to clinical candidate
  • Contribute in a very impactful manner to compound design and synthetic route identification for all portfolio projects
  • Strong presence in the lab with high level of productivity
  • Demonstrate teamwork and promote an open and innovative culture within a cross discipline environment
  • Propose new target ideas and develop early project proposals
  • Work independently and collaboratively across all disciplines within company and at partner CROs/collaborators: understand the requirements across all portfolio projects and work with team members to deliver against aggressive timelines
  • Work in accordance to local safety requirements and in compliance with all company policies


Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry with 5-10 years of research experience in a biopharmaceutical setting
  • In-depth knowledge of modern medicinal chemistry and synthesis techniques and tools with demonstrated impact on several drug discovery campaigns
  • Significant experience using structure-based and computer-aided drug design to positively influence design hypotheses through close collaboration with crystallography and modeling colleagues
  • Ability to successfully design and implement medicinal chemistry plans within large cross-functional project teams
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and/or evidence of sustained contributions to the industry
  • Team player with a positive and proactive attitude with respect to out-of-box thinking, multitasking and willingness to learn and challenge status quo
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication; strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Able to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary matrix research environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of solving complex synthetic challenges
  • Experience in successfully leading projects to key milestones
  • Experience working with external CROs, including project planning and prioritization of work, as well as academic/industrial collaborations


Business Knowledge

Candidate should also have a good understanding of preclinical drug discovery path from idea to clinical candidate. Understands how the different disciplines contribute to the discovery projects and is fully able to represent their own discipline in a cross-disciplinary environment.
